Precision agriculture is the process of utilizing a piece of farming land to the fullest. With the demand of food going up every day, and is estimated to be 50 times by 2050, precision agriculture ensures round the year production, higher yield and retaining the fertility of soil. Precision agriculture is largely based on observation, collecting data and continuously tracking progress, feeding it to farm management software, which then gives the data for execution of farming produce.
Challenges
Farm lands are usually large. Since for precision agriculture to be implemented needs vast data on land terrain, spots of fertile and non fertile sections, sections of farm that needs or does not need chemical application, irrigation points etc, the challenges are to collect these and that too in timely and at a much needed frequency.
